About Me
Hi, I'm Nancy! I am a fully licensed mental health counselor serving Middleville, and other surrounding communities. Telehealth is offered as well for those who are not local.

Some styles of therapy I offer include, but are not limited to; talk-therapy, healing through Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), expressive arts, mindfulness, spirituality, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), skills-based counseling, career counseling, and emotion-focused therapy.

I am trauma informed, and work with individuals and families affected by matters such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, bipolar disorder, divorce and separation, grief and loss, traumatic events (past or recent), health issues, chronic pain, struggles in parenting, etc. This is a safe place for those of the LGBTQ community.
I work with almost all age groups using a variety of therapy styles that best suit the individual needs of each person. Please reach out to see if there is anything I might be able to do for you or your family.

Specializing in Anxiety Treatment, Depression and ADHD/ADD
Anxiety
Daily fear and anxiety is not a fun experience for anyone, but it is really quite common. Whether your worries are based on what is happening or what could happen, we can talk about them and help you work through what is concerning you. There are different approaches that can help ease the burden of anxiety, we will try to find what works best for you together.
Expressive Arts
Almost anyone can benefit from therapy, although not everyone is comfortable picturing themselves talking about very personal things with someone they just met. Don't worry, there is no pressure to share everything right away, you can take your time. And for those who tend to be on the quiet side, or prefer other modes of sharing, I encourage the use of expressive communication through writing, art, music, poetry, journaling, and mixed media. This can be done safely in or outside the office. I am open to hearing about your ideas as well regarding preferred modes of communication, as these can sometimes open the door to finding ones voice.
Depression
Depression is not just feeling sad. It can can be physical as well as emotional, which is why it can be so hard to live with. Depression can be like a broken record repeating the same negative thoughts which can lead us to feeling lower than ever before. It may also include moments of feeling numb and stagnant, which can create even more problems, and so the cycle continues. Right? Let's try to turn it around together. I'm not saying it will be easy, but you don't have to do it alone.
Trauma
This is a safe place to talk about trauma. Trauma is not something a person should have to navigate alone, so if you have been doing that; whether it's been months or years, you don't have to anymore. It is not necessary to recount all the details if you prefer not to. The affects of trauma alone are enough to discuss because doing so can help to process, and change the habits you acquired at that time in order to survive. Oftentimes those coping skills are difficult to change, even when they no longer serve a needed purpose. You are more than what happened to you... I utilize multiple modalities for trauma including ART, short for Accelerated Resolution Therapy which can sometimes help tremendously in one session.
ADHD
I love working with ADHD diagnosed individuals. As an ADHD'er myself, I know what it's like, and it's not easy! Here you will find a place of support and understanding. If you want to be educated in this diagnosis for yourself or loved one, we can do that. Learning new skills, and talking about the trials of living with ADHD can be very therapeutic. I will gladly help you learn when to go easy on yourself, and if interested, can teach you some ways to feel more in control of your life, in whatever ways you need.
Children and Teens
It's not easy being a(n) child; adolescent; or raising one. Anxiety and/or frustration can be common for both parent and child at these stages; or perhaps your child just needs someone else to talk to for various reasons. I will be flexible in working with your child or teen, in whatever way seems to work best for every. I will strive to maintain their confidentiality, while allowing you to identify goals, so you can be part of the process if that proves helpful. Older teens may have more privacy in their sessions if ready to do so.
